Request special garbage tags for a community clean-up

Community Clean-up Rules and Requirements: 

  1. Application for Special Garbage Tags is to be made with the Environmental Services Division of the Environment and Infrastructure Services Department. 
  2. Special Garbage Tags may be issued to groups or individuals, when approved, to clean up garbage from City property (excluding areas normally maintained by adjacent property owners, e.g. boulevard in front of a convenience store). 
  3. There is no charge for the Special Garbage Tags. 
  4. Clear bags must be used for garbage and for recyclable materials. 
  5. The collection contractor will only collect the clean-up materials during on scheduled garbage collection weeks.
  6. This program does not include the pick-up of illegally dumped large/bulky items.
  7. The number of Special Garbage Tags required shall be determined at the time of approval by the Environmental Services Division.
  8.  All unused tags are to be returned to the Waste Diversion Site. 
  9. There is typically a maximum of 20 tags per application/clean up event. Additional tags may be supplied if required subject to the approval process.
  10. Special Garbage Tags are not for replacement of regular Garbage Tags. 

Note: If you wish to collect litter at a City park, trail or waterfront area the Special Garbage Tags are not required; however, you must make collection arrangements for your event with the City’s Parks Division by contacting 705-326-4585.

 

We agree to collect garbage only from the City property(s) described in Question 1, according to the Special Garbage Tags Policy (see Community Clean-up Rules and Requirements above).
