Real Property Application Form

 

One application form is required for each parcel of land affected, along with the applicable fee as indicated by Chapter 454 of the City of Orillia Municipal Code (User Fees – Property Services).

 

 

 

There are two options for submitting your application:

1) Online (complete the online form and submit payment with submission confirmation in person or by mail once complete)

2) Hard Copy Application (print and fill out the form by hand and submit with payment in person or by mail)

If proceeding with an ONLINE application, be prepared to submit: 

  • a scanned copy of the deed to the property
  • a scanned copy of proof of insurance 
    • For Licences of Occupation/Assignments, a residential applicant must submit proof of insurance for their property in the amount of $5 million, and a commercial/industrial/institutional applicant must submit a certificate of insurance in the amount of $5 million naming The Corporation of the City of Orillia as an "additional insured"
  • a scanned copy of the site plan or building location plan showing existing and proposed changes/structures

*If you are not the registered owner of the property, be prepared to have the owner(s) sign an authorization within this online form.

LEGAL FEE DEPOSIT

All applicants are responsible for paying all legal fees associated with their application. A legal fee deposit is required at the time of application. Initial legal fee deposits start at $800, though cost estimates may vary depending on the complexity of the application. Additional legal fee deposits may be required prior to processing an application (applicants will be advised by staff if this is the case). Any unused funds will be returned to the applicant upon completion of the Real Property matter.
