The City of Orillia and the Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH), in partnership with the Orillia Opera House, are excited to announce a new Call to Artists for exhibitions at the Stack Gallery and the Orillia Opera House Gallery. Artists are invited to submit original new or existing works that explore the theme "The Art of Summer."
The theme, “The Art of Summer,” is inspired by 10 years of professional Summer Theatre at the Orillia Opera House. Over the past decade, the program has flourished, bringing in-house productions to Orillia and touring them across Ontario. With near sold-out performances in 2023 and expanded showtimes in 2024, this milestone marks a defining chapter in Orillia’s rich theatre history. To celebrate this achievement, we invite artists to submit works that capture the spirit of summer in Orillia. Submissions may be inspired by performances, festivals, community gatherings, or the energy of summer life in the community. Artists looking to be featured are invited to interpret this theme, either through new or existing original works of art.
The call is open to all artist from any location, however, preference may be given to those who work or reside in the City of Orillia, Chippewas of Rama First Nation, or the Townships of Oro-Medonte, Severn, or Ramara. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at noon. The exhibition will run from June 2025 to December 2025.
