Please note, this session is self-directed and is not a guided tour. Although there will be Leacock Museum staff present who can provide information during your hunt, this is not considered a tour. Terms and Conditions:
- Tickets purchased for this event are prohibited for re-sale above face value/original price requested by the museum.
- The minimum participants required for this tour is 5. If the booking group arrives with less than 5 participants, the fee for 5 participants minimum will still apply.
- The booking fee is $15+HST per participant. There are no exceptions to this fee. Once your booking has been accepted, you will be directed to a payments page to pay a non-refundable deposit ($44.25+HST) which will then be subtracted from your total fee. The remainder of your fee will be available to pay on the day of your tour. Please bring a visa, mastercard, debit or cash to your scheduled booking.
- Visitors are welcome to take photographs while in the museum. Please inform visitors to disable any flash on your cellphone or cameras to help protect the artifacts prior to the tour.
- Professional video and/or extended video is prohibited. Short burst videos for social media is permitted. If you wish to film your entire experience using personal devices or professional cameras, please contact jmartynyshyn@orillia.ca for the museum's filming user fees.
- Leacock Museum staff reserve the right to ask participants to put away recording devices at any time.
- Some rooms throughout the house are prohibited to film in due to copyright issues. Leacock Museum staff members reserve the right to ask participants to put away recording devices at any time.
- No food or drinks, with the exception of water, are permitted inside the museum at any time.
- Guests are prohibited to handle any artifacts or furniture.
- Please do not use tape or any adhesives to secure equipment to walls, floor, etc. unless authorized to by Leacock Museum staff members.
- Please note that due to the historical nature of the building, only part of the house is accessible and staircases, narrow doorways and hallways may cause some barriers to mobility.
- Please note that the basement and staff areas are off-limits to tour groups. This tour does not include access to the Leacock boathouse or any other building on the property other than the Leacock Museum.
- Any violation of the terms and conditions can result in the cancellation of your event without refund.
Directions:
The museum address is 50 Museum Drive, Orillia Ontario and is located on the shores of Lake Couchiching (please see map below).
When arrived, visitors will see a parking lot with white-faced buildings on either side. If you are traveling via tour bus, please have the bus park in the parking lot, or on the trail behind the museum if the parking lot is full. When arrived, please take a total head-count and let the front desk staff know how many people you have joining you on the tour so the remainder of the fee can be calculated.
The museum building is on the right side of the parking lot when facing the Lake. The front entrance doors are off the porch that faces the lake. Please follow signs on the property if needed.
